The Incredibles Party for your Kids

By Gail Leino Your kids will love a fun birthday party and you can make it a super party with a The Incredibles Party. This super family makes for excellent childrens entertainment and the movie is just clever enough to be interesting for adults too. Its up to you just how involved you get with this party but its probably possible to get matching superhero outfits for everyone if you want. Those not looking to go as in-depth into The Incredibles party theme can simply use lots of fun party decorations to create the superhero atmosphere. Paper supplies like plates, napkins, tablecloths, and cups can be found with the family of incredibles in great action poses on them. Look for streamers in red and black to match the color of their superhero costumes. Red metallic dangles to hang from the ceiling will also add to the incredibles look and they should catch the light in a pleasant way. The incredibles wall posters are also easy to find and will certainly make great decorative accent to the party area. Kids love goodie bags and you can find lots of superhero stuff to fill them with for the party. There are stickers and tattoos of the incredibles, but you can also find Superman, Strawberry Shortcake and even batman to add to the goodie bags. Candy in the form of chocolates and hard candies can be a good addition. You may want to stay away from the gum though as it can tend to end up matted in the carpet. Other items to slip into goodie bags are sunglasses, mini tambourines, pens and pencils. The pens and pencils can usually be customized with a special message relating to the parties theme like, Have Fun with Our Incredibles Party! Dont forget the superman ice cream and cake for the kids. Mrs. Party… Gail Leino takes a common sense approach to planning and organizing events, celebrations and holiday parties with unique ideas for birthday party supplies and fun free educational party games. She explains proper etiquette and living a healthy life while also teaching organizational skills and fun facts. The Party Supplies Hut has lots of party ideas with hundreds of free coloring sheets, printable games, and free birthday party activities. Fall Wildflower - Eupatorium serotinum - Late Boneset

By Paul Wonning Eupatorium serotinum Family Asteraceae- Aster Late Boneset is a fall blooming wildflower usually found in woodlands and in the marginal areas around them. Its range runs from Massachusetts in the eastern United States, west to Kansas, and from Wisconsin in the north, south to Kentucky and West Virginia. It is pretty common here in Indiana, forming thick drifts of pure white blooms in and near the forest. Boneset was thought to be useful for aiding broken bones to set by early herbalists, so it was wrapped in bandages and splints and placed around broken bones. A tea made from its dried leaves was given for colds, coughs and constipation. It has been found to be more harmful than helpful, as it can cause kidney and liver damage when taken. Boneset will grow from two to five feet in height, with toothed leaves on opposite sides of the stems. It begins blooming in early September and continues through the month. Eupatorium serotinum, is a bit too weedy looking to include in a perennial garden, however it is quite pretty in the wild stands found in woodlands, abandoned fields and marginal area near forests. It is frequently found growing with goldenrod, the snow white flowering bracts contrasting nicely with the brilliant golden color of the goldenrod. One of the more common fall blooming wildflowers, Late Bonesets snow white flowers beautify the autumn woodlands and fields of the countryside. No longer considered a healing herb, the heavily blooming plants are soothing to the eye in the bright September sun. Paul Wonning is the owner of Gardens and Nature.com a web site about gardening, hiking and other nature related topics. What Is Reasonable Weight Loss?

By Carol Walsh If you read ads in the newspaper, watch infomercials on TV or click on internet pop-ups, youd assume that quick and easy weight loss is a piece of cake. Lose 10 pounds in two weeks, Lose 10 pounds in 10 days, and Lose 10 to 18 pounds in less than six weeks are just a few of the claims that set our expectations for the task of melting away extra fat. But are those results really possible? According to the National Institutes of Health and the American College of Sports Medicine, one to two pounds a week is considered safe and appropriate weight loss. This guideline is often cited by the medical community to help dieters lose body fat without also losing lean mass and to avoid dehydration. Safe may be well and good, but one to two pounds a week sure sounds wimpy compared to what the weight loss industry has to offer! To sort through whats fantasy and whats real, consider first what it actually takes to use the energy that 10 pounds of stored body fat represents. At 3,500 calories per pound, 10 pounds of fat represents 35,000 calories of stored energy. The average person burns about 100 calories walking or running one mile. So to lose the 10 pounds in one week, a person would have to run 350 miles or 50 miles per day. This is assuming, of course, that eating habits arent changed while adding all that exercise. Can you imagine expending that much energy? Can you imagine covering 50 miles and not being hungrier than on a day when you didnt? It is probably safe to say that losing 10 pounds of fat loss in one week, by exercise alone, is nothing short of laughable. But what about losing 10 pounds of fat in a week by dieting? Is there a way to avoid eating 35,000 calories in a week (5,000 per day)? Considering that a typical middle-aged female (55, 170 pounds, less than 30 minutes of vigorous exercise beyond daily routine activities) maintains her weight on about 1,900 calories per day, this too would be impossible. She cant possibly eat more than less than nothing! How about eating nothing and running only 31 miles per day for a week? Now that would be a way to combine dieting and exercise to lose 10 pounds of stored body fat. Again, laughable. Because 10 pounds of body fat in a week is out of the question, how realistic is the two pounds per week safe weight loss guideline? Once again, to answer this question, lets go back to the numbers. Two pounds of fat weight is equivalent to 7,000 calories or 70 miles of running/walking per week. Is it reasonable to expect someone to run 10 miles per day every day of the week and at the same time consume the same food as usual? Or to eat 1,000 calories less than usual for seven days without going crazy? For our sample woman, cutting 1,000 calories would mean eating about half her usual and about 500 calories less than what her body really needs to maintain basic functions at rest. By now it should be clear that even one annoying pound of fat holds a significant amount of energy. By cutting back food about 300 calories a day and by adding a 2 mile walk each day, a person could expect to lose one pound of body fat each week. If this new routine is kept up each day for a full year, it would represent a hefty 50 pound weight loss. On the other hand, it takes adding only 100 calories more each day (or moving 100 calories less) to add up to an extra 10 pounds in a year. No matter how you do the math, successful weight management involves setting reasonable and realistic goals. One days diet and exercise routine wont necessarily affect your weight the next day, and it may even take a few weeks for significant weight changes to register on the scale. Keep up with the habit changes, however, and theyre bound to pay off in fat loss as the energy deficits accumulate. Fly Fishing Trips

By Kristy Annely If you are looking for an incredible holiday vacation, then a fly fishing trip is the perfect answer. It is both educational and adventurous. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced angler, you will have a fabulous experience if the trip is well planned. Walk/wade trips and float trips are the two common types of fly-fishing trips. The walk/ wade trips give you the unique feeling of catching your favorite fish standing thigh deep in the water. Should you choose a float-fishing trip, you will enjoy fishing off shore. Finding the right place to go is key to a successful fly-fishing trip. You find a place on your own or depend on a trip service provider. Before starting your trip, make sure you have a first aid kit and a location map. Your equipment should include all the necessary fishing tools such as steel rod pods, line and spare spool, throwing sticks and hackle pliers. In addition, you should remember to purchase a fishing license if required. Owens River, Piru Creek and Deep Creek, Delaware River, Stillaguamish River and Idaho Falls are some of the perfect locations to arrange your fly fishing trips. An extensive line of service providers such as hotels, resorts, wilderness lodges, outfitters and B&Bs are available at most fly fishing sites. You can find more information about fly-fishing trips in fishing publications, libraries, and on the Internet. Those outlets will also provide you with knowledge about how to tie your own fly - from choosing and buying materials, to tying techniques, to casting methods, and more. Fishing Trips provides detailed information on Fishing Trips, Fly Fishing Trips, Canada Fishing Trips, Alaska Fishing Trips and more. Fishing Trips is affiliated with Deep Sea Fishing Boats. Fly Fishing Trip Guides

By Ken Marlborough Planning on going on a fly fishing trip? Before you do, make sure you to do the following: Read, read, and read! Before going to any fly fishing trips, especially if it is your first time, you have to know what you are getting into. Study everything you have to know. This should not be a problem since there are many books about fly fishing alone than all the other types of fishing combined. Hence, the first thing you have to do is visit your local library and take some time off to gather information. You can also check out the Internet if you do not have the time to go out. Look for other fly fishers out there. Find out if there is a club or a group of fly fishers in your area. If there is one, do not hesitate to join or approach any of the members to ask questions. These people will be more than willing to help you get started. Visit a fly shop. There are knowledgeable people there who can help you with your fly fishing needs. You can even ask for advice from the store assistants. With fly shops, you can be assured that they carry only the top-of-the-line quality products. National sporting goods chains, department stores, or mall shops may not be able to provide what fly shops can for you. Choose your equipment. The gadgets and equipment you will purchase, rent, or borrow should match your level of ability and the type of fly fishing you want to do. Hence, it is best to talk to fly shop assistants before acquiring any equipment so that they can evaluate you. Fly fishing equipment include a fly rod, fly line, leader, reel, wading gear (waders, foot gear, wading staff, fishing vest, flotation device, and wading belts), and other miscellaneous equipment such as forceps, fly boxes, hat, rain gear, leader wallet, and a spare set of keys. Fly Fishing Trips provides detailed information on Fly Fishing Flies, Fly Fishing Gear, Fly Fishing Knots, Fly Fishing Reels and more. Fly Fishing Trips is affiliated with Fly Fishing Vacations. Destinations for Romance on Your Honeymoon

By Richard Rspad Getting married constitutes the end of your single life and beginning of a new personal adventure. To get things started right, you have a huge choice of destinations for romance. Destinations for Romance on Your Honeymoon If you’ve decided on the wedding date, location and even theme, you might be wondering what’s next. Why, you’ve got to plan the honeymoon, of course! Choosing a place to spend your first days as man and wife can be just as important as planning the wedding and even more fun Combine the words Hawaii and honeymoon, and you get romance in the language of love. Millions of people from the United States and other countries flock here each year for honeymoons. The islands of Hawaii - which include the Big Island (Hawaii), Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Oahu and Kauai are the perfect location for your dream honeymoon. The smaller islands of Lanai and Kauai are especially so and less crowded than the more popular islands of Oahu and Maui. One excellent choice for your Hawaiian honeymoon stay is the Hanalei Bay Resort, located in Princeville, Kauai. This resort offers suites and regular rooms, with either breathtaking ocean views or beautiful mountain vistas. Golf courses surround the resort, and nestled within the property are two waterfalls. You can even have your wedding here as well, if you’d like to have a destination wedding! Another location that oozes romance is the Caribbean. This area of the world offers many different resorts and islands to choose from, but they’re all infused with the exotic feel of the tropical climate, as well as the warmth and charm of an island getaway. One great place is the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. This all-inclusive resort offers the best spa in the Caribbean according to Cond Nast Traveler magazine, and is known as the Caribbean’s most elegant resort. A honeymoon here means you don’t have to carry cash or pay extra for anything, and a wedding ceremony is even included in the price of your stay! (There is a seven night minimum stay for the free wedding.) There are many honeymoon spots to choose from when it comes to romance, and it would be impossible to highlight them all. Just remember that when choosing a location, it’s important that you find the place romantic and relaxing. Don’t book your honeymoon somewhere on the advice of anyone else, be sure to select a resort that’s right for the two of you - it’s your trip. The Secret To US Department of Education Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_Kessler]Mark Kessler If you have heard about any kind of Federal financial aid for students, you are already familiar with US Department of Education loans. The US Department of Education handles all government aid for defraying the cost of attending college in America, from grants to loans. The first thing that you will need to do to apply for US Department of Education loans is to fill out a FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. FAFSA forms compare the amount of money required to attend a specific college to the amount of money that can be expected to be paid by the family of the attendee. Any difference is the amount of money eligible for student aid. Qualifying for US Department of Education Loans US Department of Education loans have specific qualifications that an applicant must meet to be eligible. The qualifications include US Citizenship (some non-citizens with social security numbers are also eligible), financial need, possession of a valid Social Security Number, and proof of eligibility for higher education in the form of a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or similar. Furthermore, applicants for US Department of Education loans must be in good financial, academic, and legal standing. In other words, they must be registered with the Selective Service if required, they must not have defaulted on a student loan in the past, they can have no record of conviction on charges of sales or possession of drugs, and they must maintain a certain grade point average (GPA) to continue to receive student loans from the Department of Education. Types of US Department of Education Loans There are three main possibilities when considering US Department of Education loans: grants, which are monetary gifts, student loans, and work-study programs where the money for education is earned. Only in the case of student loans does the money need to be repaid. Most federal grants are based solely on financial need, and some are given on a first-come-first-served basis, so it is important to apply as early as possible. Work-Study programs are not technically US Department of Education loans, but they are a federally mandated way to receive financial aid to attend college. A number of work-study hours are specified as part of the financial aid package. These usually involve jobs working with non-profit companies or on campus, and pay a modest salary. The money earned can be used for college tuition. True US Department of Education loans include the Perkins Loan, the Stafford Loan, and the PLUS loan for parents. Perkins loans have a particularly low interest rate and can be paid back over a time period of as long as 10 years. There are a limited number of Perkins Loans available to each school every year. The Stafford Loan has a higher interest rate than the Perkins loan, and doesnt necessarily offer a grace period after graduation. However, there are more Stafford loans offered by the US Department of Education every year. Stafford loans are even available to students who dont have a pressing financial need. Stafford loans may be paid off over a period of as long as thirty years. PLUS loans are the final type of US Department of Education loans. They are offered to parents of undergraduates, as opposed to the students themselves. Payments on Federal PLUS loans start two months after the money is received, and can be paid off over a ten-year term. Mark Kessler’s website offers a comprehensive free resource of college financial aid. Don’t even think about paying for school until you’ve read this about Consolidating Student Loans, as well as Alternative Student Loans, ACS, Bad Credit, and [http://studentloans.seeking411.com]Federal financial aid for students, including a variety student loan articles. The Key to Dating Success? Think of It as “Data Gathering”

By Ronnie Ann Ryan Love at first sight happens occasionally, but does it happen every time you meet someone new? If youve had your heart crushed more than once by rushing into a relationship, it might be time to try a new approach. The good news is, there is a practical alternative to diving in heart first. If youre looking for a long-term, loving relationship, think of dating as data gathering. Before you give your heart away take time to find out if the person is worthy, meets your needs, and has long-term potential. Every conversation, email or date is a chance to notice details and collect vital information about your dates character. Of course you wont take notes or actually interview the person. Simply be yourself, yet, be alert so you can notice red flags or signals that could impact your long-term relationship success. Determining someones Mr./Ms. Right potential only becomes clear with time. Data gathering includes watching for: Follow through on whatever he or she says Qualities that you are seeking like honesty, respect, sense of humor, kindness, etc. How the person treats you and others If you have enough in common and enjoy each others company If you look at the world with a similar viewpoint If you have similar life goals How well you get along with each other Heres an example illustrating the pitfalls of an instant relationship. Deana met Sam at a workshop. At first glance, he had many of the wonderful qualities she desired;, charming, attractive, smart, entrepreneurial, and more. They were comfortable with each other immediately, talked about everything, and started spending all their free time together. Looking back, Deana noticed signs of trouble early. Sam said he liked outdoor activities, yet wouldnt agree to any. Deana didnt like the way he treated other people. Sam wanted all her free time and Deana had other things that needed her attention which caused a lot of arguments. She had no luck discussing this with him it was Sams way or the highway. Once Deana had a strong heart connection that felt so right, her objectivity went out the window and she choose to ignore the red flags. She feared talking to Sam because she felt it might endanger their relationship. Eventually things came to a head and both the magic and relationship dissolved. Today, Deana understands the importance of pacing herself and vows to spend more time observing before falling for someone so swiftly. Choices about love are often made on a strictly emotional basis. Yet, wouldnt everyone benefit from relying on the conscious mind as well? By approaching dating as data gathering, you have a chance to stay more level-headed and balanced which helps you avoid mistakes by not jumping in heart first. Next time you meet a great guy or gal, consider data gathering before you get too emotionally attached. Date with your head and not just your heart to increase your potential of finding someone whos a wonderful match and the right person for you. Do Something About It

By Laura Dion-Jones Casey Acceptance is not submission; it is acknowledgement of the facts of a situation. Then deciding what you’re going to do about it. Kathleen Casey Theisen There’s a particularly well-known doctor in Chicago, an MD with a major medical university affiliation, who runs a wellness and weight loss clinic. What I find particularly intriguing about his method is that I haven’t met one person who has gone to him for help with weight loss and been successful. I’ve also heard this from colleagues of his, other doctors associated with the same university. It seems no one wants to be the one to break it to him that over half of his patients fail to lose any weight with his methods, let alone keep it off. So, I wondered, how could he not notice? Did he not care? I decided to ask some of his colleagues why, in their estimation, this was so. After all, wasn’t said diet doctor up on all the latest methods of medical weight loss and motivation, especially considering he’s a professional affiliated with such a prestigious university hospital? Dr. So-and-So only offers the ’same old-same old’ and people like you who are hyper-insulemic need other ways, better ways that are lower in white starch and sugar carbs, replied a few of the doctors I consulted. With a shrug, they each added, He isn’t willing to learn or teach anything else, anything new. His ego won’t let him - so what does he expect? If, in your heart of hearts, you know that you’re following your physician’s professionally prescribed program at least 90% of the time and you’re still not enjoying any positive results, you need a change. When your diet’s not working for you - when your doctor’s not working for you - you need to find somebody else, a doctor who understands that you’re obviously different than most of his/her other patients and that you need something other than the old food group pyramid to get you healthier and more fit. Acknowledge the situation and stop working against yourself. You’re prolonging the agony of being fat. Losing weight ain’t all that hard. Believe me. Last week, I had a consultation with a prospective motivational weight loss client, and it just so happens she was a former patient of the aforementioned Dr. So-and-So and his wellness clinic. She couldn’t lose an ounce on his professional weight loss and fitness plan, either. This gal sat in front of me for ninety minutes telling me she had been to this doctor, that doctor, and everyone in between - even consulting with Dr. Andrew Weil in Arizona, as well as Bob Greene, Oprah’s diet dude and trainer. And she STILL has not been able to lose any weight! NOTHING worked for her. So how can you help me? I’m at the end of my rope, she pled. I’m sixty-some years old with an ailing heart that’s headed for two stents. My arteries are clogged, I have a horrendously bad back with nerve pain to the nth degree, arthritically compromised knees and seventy extra pounds I need to unload. And of course, she knows exactly why she isn’t losing weight with anyone else. Or at least she thinks she knows; she certainly spoke like she had all the answers. But then why did she want to talk with little ol’ me and hear about the motivational magic I’ve created while losing 130 pounds in 2 1/2 years on my own? I tried to tell her that whatever she was doing was not working for her (that was obvious!) and that she should question her doctors. She became incensed at my audacity. All my doctors come very highly recommended! she hissed, like I was some sort of an idiot. What more proof do you need?, I replied. What more proof will it take for you to realize your ‘highly recommended’ doctors and other ‘professional diet experts’ don’t have the right program for you? You might need a second, third, and sometimes even a fourth opinion before finding the way that’s right for you. Of course, she would have none of it. After all, she’s been to the best! Some people are so full of excuses, so full of it, that they are un-coachable, simply unable to be motivated by anyone, doctor or otherwise. If you are unwilling to question the methods that are clearly not working for you and unwilling to even consider finding another way - another doctor, perhaps - I cannot help you. The aggravation wouldn’t be worth the money I’d make, and it certainly wouldn’t be worth the time either of us would waste. The older you get, the more you realize that time is an all too precious commodity. I have no more to waste. Life’s getting shorter by the nano-second. There are lots of others out there who want, need, seek and appreciate my motivational help. I was tempted to tell her When you act like you know everything about the whole diet, fitness and weight loss game and you’re still fat, I suspect you’re that way with everything else in your life and it’s no wonder you’re in the weighty situation you’re in, but for once I held my tongue. I knew in my heart of hearts that she was way too much of a control freak to let anyone tell her how she had to eat, move and begin to think - no matter how professional they were. I have another friend like this. No matter what I did to lose my weight, no matter which diet, no matter how this or why that that brought me success - she’d already been there, done that, her sister had done it, her mom had done it. She’s always on the hunt for something else magic and new to try, and with all that searching, she’s still fat. And jealous that I did it and she can’t. If you’ve convinced yourself that you’ve been on every diet in the book and know all there is to know about meditation and breathing and self-esteem and positive self-image and exercise and daily walking and diets and white starch and sugar carbs and glycemic index and all the rest of it, and you’re still fat and unwilling to try any alternative methods to help yourself lose the weight you need to lose once and for all - I can’t help you either. You gotta wanna do something about your weight and lack of fitness. And maybe you just don’t wanna bad enough. Yet. Laura Dion-Jones Casey P.O.
